Description

The candidate would be responsible for review of traffic and transportation aspects associated with development and implementation of the Placer General Plan and Community Plan Transportation polices, CEQA compliance and Vehicle Miles Travelled (VMT) concepts, coordination with partner agencies on cross jurisdictional transportation strategies, and engagement with community members on a number of transportation related topics.

Responsibilities
  • You will assess potable water, wastewater, and storm water utility systems in collaboration with tradesmen to identify system vulnerabilities, as well as conservation and resiliency opportunities.
  • You develop risk-based mitigation strategies (construction, repair projects, studies, etc.) to resolve vulnerabilities and innovative design concepts for improving system reliability and resiliency.
  • You will induct all relevant utility requirements, make risk-based priority recommendations, and track requirements through all phases from planning to sustainment to ensure high-quality, timely execution.
  • You will prepare utility requirement Statements of Work (SOW), Statements of AE Services (SAES), Independent Government Estimates (IGE), and programming package components, such as project justifications and briefing slides.
  • You will provide technical expertise during execution of relevant projects and studies, to include design submittal reviews, construction submittal reviews, and project close-out verification and testing.
  • You will assess system preventive maintenance program health in terms of code compliance, alignment relative to industry standards, and completion rates, and develop solutions for improving deficiencies.
  • You will actively review utility asset inventory information, map locations, and property record information and coordinate with applicable stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
  • You will investigate unplanned utility events (outages, etc.), determine causal factors, actions that can be taken to prevent future occurrence, and track actions to ensure completion.

  • You must have successfully examined and have a current score on file. If you have not already done so, you must first apply to the CIVIL ENGINEER TRAINEE (ONLINE EXAM) posting and follow the directions provided.
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
